This one was fun. Temaki. Mini ones.
And they are excellent two bite snacks!
Still have some leftovers left. Maybe I will stuff the next ones with fried chicken, or something…
- 1 sheet of nori
- a little bit of leftover sushi rice
- 1/4 avocado
- tiny bit of Shredded Brussels Slaw
- a few pieces of crab or shrimp
- sesame seeds
- whatever else you want
I wanted them to be tiny snacks, so I took one nori sheet and cut it into 4 pieces. Shiny side down, add a thin layer of sushi rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Then layer, across the diagonal, shrimp or crab or fish or whatever, then add your toppings, like sliced avocado, slaw, carrot strips, etc.
Holding it across your palm, close your hand, drawing two sides along the other diagonal together, using a tiny bit of sushi rice to glue the edges together.
You don’t get classic temaki cones along the bottom, but these are cute little packages that take two bites to eat.
Drizzle a little soy sauce on it and eat it up..
